HIVEX is a biological filter material designed to be used in aquarium and pool water filtration. With its dense porous structure, it creates an ideal surface area and a more efficient filtration environment for nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria to colonize. HIVEX is effective in removing ammonia and nitrite thanks to the bacteria maturing on it. Its lightweight structure allows the Hivex to be in constant motion during filtration. The constantly moving HIVEX grains allow bacteria to reach more nutrients and accelerate the biological filtration process. With this feature, you can also use HIVEX in moving bed filters.
HIVEX does not deteriorate. You do not need to change it during filter cleaning.
Even if you wash the HIVEX while the filter is being cleaned, you cannot damage the majority of bacteria that settle in the micropores.
It is suitable for all kinds of biological filters and filter systems.
Directions for Use: Use at least 100 mL per 100 liters. Wash before use.
